Odisha FC announce a new tieup with Brazilian outfit Avai Futebol CLube ahead of the new ISL season

Odisha FC have done groundbreaking work this season off the field. They have brought in Spain legend David Villa into the mix and now have tied up for a strategic and commercial partnership with  Brazil’s Avaí Futebol Clube as a part of OFC’s Global Football Alliance initiative. They became the first club in India to tie up with a Brazilian outfit.

It is a historic tieup which will benefit both the outfits for mutual gain as they look to strengthen the footballing relationships. Both the clubs are looking to grow mutually and explore their possibilities more commercially.

The tieup will be helping in increasing Odisha FC’s global presence and they will hope that it helps them in developing players. Avai are a club based out of Florianopolis in Santa Catarina famous for their star studded youth academy. They have developed a lot of stars who are now featuring for the Brazil national team.

Odisha FC club president Raj Athwal has highlighted how the tieup is beneficial for both clubs. He feels that they can use Avai’s fabled youth academy for the development of their young and upcoming players. “We are delighted and proud to announce our partnership with Avaí Futebol Clube – a club with great tradition and history. Our first partnership in the South American continent brings many opportunities for both clubs’ to learn from each other, but also strengthen the bond between the two countries,” Athwal said about the tie up.

“Avai FC who currently plays in the First Division of Brazilian football can support us with the development of youth players, the academy in Odisha but also allow us to provide the very best in business and commercial strategies on which we’ll conceive, design and implement for the benefit of both the clubs’ and their respective states,” He continued.

The technical relationship will see Avai open avenues for their players to play in India. Also, the relationship will include technical information, working with basic categories and training. The tie-up will put Avai’s technical team and people from the youth department available for the development of football in Odisha.

Avai’s head coach Claudinei Oliveira recently had a talk with Kiko Ramirez and discussed various topics. Oliveira also attended a video meeting where he helped Odisha FC technical coaches and shared his experience and idea with the others.
