Kochi Blue Spikers ready to bounce back against the Bengaluru Torpedos, feels middle blocker Deepesh Kumar Sinha

The Prime Volleyball League has been sensational since its start and have seen some excellent close encounters. The Bengaluru Torpedos will take on Kochi Blue Spikers in the fourth fixture of the Prime Volleyball League 2022.

Speak ahead of their first game this season, Bengaluru Torpedos star man Rohit P said, “I am really excited to play my first match in the RuPay Prime Volleyball League. Our team has been practicing together for a while and we have a good mix of experience and youth in our side. We have the team to put up good performances in the tournament.”

Rohit P is looking to take volleyball to the next level through the Prime Volleyball League. He wants volleyball to receive similar status and popularity like cricket among fans. “Volleyball isn’t as popular as cricket in India and volleyball players aren’t that famous. With the Prime Volleyball League being broadcast on television, the audience can see us in action and start to recognize who we are. That way we have a chance to become popular. We are hoping that we become famous players one day,” said the middle blocker.

Kochi Blue Spikers went down against the Hyderabad Black Hawks 4-1 in their last clash. So Deepesh Kumar Sinha is eager to bounce back as they look to notch their first win against Bengaluru.

“We were quite confident about our chances before our first match against Hyderabad Black Hawks. We all put in our 100 percent but unfortunately, we couldn’t be on the right side of the result. However, the confidence is still high within the group and we will try to better our performance in the next Prime Volleyball League game,” stated a very hopeful Deepesh Kumar Sinha.

The 27-year-old revealed how he came up the ranks from his hometown Dantewada. He highlighted how there was not much scope in volleyball in his hometown so he got noticed by a coach in Gwalior and gradually grew up the ranks.

After completing the 12th standard, I had to go away from home to carry out volleyball training as there was not much scope for volleyball in Dantewada, the place where I grew up. There was not much craze and volleyball players in the district. I had gone to Gwalior to play the School Nationals. One Coach in the tournament saw me play and asked me to start practicing at a stadium in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. I practiced there for two years. I learned all the basic volleyball techniques there. Thereafter, I moved up through the ranks in volleyball.”

It will be interesting to see when Rohit P of the Bengaluru Torpedos take on Deepesh Kumar Sinha of the Kochi Blue Spikers in the fourth match of the Prime Volleyball League 2022.
