The Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is the talk of the town as he came up with impressive performances in his debut NBA playoff season. The Slovenian has already made records in his young career and he has now outscored the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in a major NBA playoffs stat.
Doncic’s sublime first playoff run will be written in the golden pages of NBA history. The superstar averaged 31 points in the series, which is the sixth highest points per game in a debut series for an NBA player.
Thus, the talisman joined the likes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (35.2 points per game in debut NBA playoffs), Rick Barry (34.7), Wilt Chamberlain (33.2), Bob McAdoo (31.7) and Anthony Davis (31.5).
On the other hand, Kobe Bryant had averaged 8.2 points in his maiden playoffs season. Former legend Michael Jordan had registered 29.3 in his first postseason run. Furthermore, LA Lakers star LeBron had scored 30.8 points per game in his first series.
Meanwhile, earlier Luka Doncic had become the first player in NBA history to average 30+ points, 8+ boards, and 8+ assists in his first playoff history. He had also become the first debutant to score 42 points when the Dallas Mavericks had taken on the LA Clippers in the first game of the series.
Doncic, who was awarded the rookie player of the year in the previous season, has come up with a great season once again. However, despite Doncic’s heroics for the Mavericks, the team could not go past the Clippers. The Clippers won the seven match series by 4-2 after they won the sixth match by 111-97 but Doncic’s 38 points went in vain.
