Golden State Warriors talisman Steph Curry is regarded as one of the best shooters the game has ever seen. Curry was at his absolute best as he scored a stunning 57 points against Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. However, the linchpin’s effort went in vain as his team lost by 134-132.
Furthermore, this was Warrior’s 11th loss of the season and they have slipped from seventh to the eighth position in the Western Conference standings.
However, Curry had an unbelievable game as he played at the top of his game. The 32-year old scored 11 three-pointers against the Mavericks but it wasn’t enough to take his team over the line.
Mavericks Maxi Kleber scored a three-pointer in the dying stages of the match and it was the difference in the end. On the other hand, Dallas Mavericks talisman Luka Doncic came up with another stellar performance as he top-scored for his team with 42 points.
Despite the loss, Steph Curry joined legend Wilt Chamberlain in an elite Warrior’s record. According to ESPN Stats, “Stephen Curry joins Wilt Chamberlain as the only Warriors players with multiple 55-point games in a season. Tonight is Curry’s 9th career game with 11 3-pointers. Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson have the next most games with… 2.”
Moreover, Stephen Curry joins Wilt Chamberlain as the only players in Warriors’ franchise history to score 17,000+ career points.
Out of 23 games for Golden State Warriors this season, Curry has top-scored for his team in 18 matches as he has been a standout player. Curry has all the experience in the world and Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr stated that the talisman has never played better in his career.
Golden State Warriors will next face the San Antonio Spurs on the 9th of February.
