Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma is the most successful IPL captain in the history of the tournament.
Rohit has led MI to glory on five occasions and he has led from the front. The talisman is known to get the best out of his players and he always leads MI with aplomb.
Rohit took over the captaincy from Ricky Ponting back in the mid-way stage of the 2013 season and led the team to victory in his first season as a captain. Since then, both Rohit and Mumbai Indians are a match made in heaven and they haven’t looked back.
Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav has shed light on Rohit Sharma’s character while being off the field. Yadav has revealed that Sharma has a piece of great knowledge and he shares it with his teammates, which makes him different from other captains.
Suryakumar Yadav said while talking to Sports Today, “I think he has been doing an amazing job, and having 5 titles with Mumbai Indians is proof of that. The result is in front of everyone.”
“Off the field, he is very different, he is a very fun guy to be around. On the field, everyone has seen how he handles the situation and how he is there for everyone but off the field, I think he is the most perfect guy to be around, he jokes around and even there he has a lot of knowledge to share with every cricketer out here. This is a very good point about him which makes him different”, finished Suryakumar Yadav.
Rohit Sharma has delivered the goods as the leader of the team and he played a key role in the success of the team. The 33-year old has lead with a sedate approach and he has impressed with his leadership.
In fact, Rohit has also done a fine job for the national team whenever he has got the opportunity to lead in the absence of Virat Kohli. Furthermore, Rohit has also delivered as a batsman for Mumbai Indians as he has scored 5230 runs in 200 IPL matches.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will look to come up with another collective effort in the upcoming season of the league. MI will begin their title defense against Royal Challengers Bangalore today at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
