Mumbai Indians have re-signed the services of Ishan Kishan for a whopping amount of INR 15.25 crores.
Kishan was expected to bag a huge price at the auction and a bidding war started for him as soon as his name was drawn. Thus, the left-handed wicket-keeper batter has become the second most expensive Indian player in IPL auction history after Yuvraj Singh.
Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar was also among the top picks on the first day of the IPL auction as he was re-signed by defending champions Chennai Super Kings for INR 14 crores.
Furthermore, Shreyas Iyer was roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 12.25 crores and he is expected to take the captaincy duties. KKR also got the services of Pat Cummins for INR 7.25 crores.
On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore roped in the services of Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga for INR 10.75 crores each. Moreover, RCB was able to sign Faf du Plessis for INR 7 Crores. RCB also roped in the services of Dinesh Karthik for INR 5.50 crores.
Rajasthan Royals were able to Shimron Hetmyer for INR 8.5 Crores, Devdutt Padikkal for INR 7.75 Crores, Ravichandran Ashwin for INR 5 crores, Yuzvendra Chahal for INR 6.5 crores. Prasidh Krishna, who recently had a good ODI series against West Indies, was bagged by Rajasthan Royals for INR 10 crores.
Delhi Capitals got the services of Shardul Thakur for INR 10.75 crores. Moreover, David Warner was bagged for INR 6.25 crores by Delhi Capitals.
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings roped in the services of Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, and Robin Uthappa but Suresh Raina, who has been a consistent performer in the IPL, remained unsold in the first draw.
Lucknow Supergiants were able to get Quinton de Kock for INR 6.75 crores while Mohammed Shami was roped by Gujarat Titans for INR 6.25 crores
