The defending champions Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. CSK is still hanging on a thin thread in the tournament but it is going to be a herculean task for them to make it to the last four.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians are already knocked out of the tournament as this has been their worst ever season. MI has failed to come up with a collective show and it has led to its downfall. In fact, MI were at their best with the ball in the previous match against KKR but once again crumbled with the bat as they were bundled out for only 113 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah returned back to his best as he took his maiden five-wicket haul in the IPL as he had impressive figures of 5-10 in his four overs.
Chennai Super Kings will want other results to go their way and there are very less chances of them qualifying for the playoffs. However, CSK will want to win the remaining three matches to stay in contention.
CSK had won their previous match against Delhi Capitals by a huge margin of 91 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway had continued their impressive form whereas Moeen Ali had snared three wickets for the reigning champions.
Match Prediction: Chennai Super Kings will enter the contest as favorites as they are in better form than Mumbai Indians.
