IPL 2022: Picks for the match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians

The defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Mumbai Indians in the 59th match of the Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Thursday. It has been a forgettable season for the two most successful IPL teams as they are currently at the bottom of the points table.

We take a look at Picks for the match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. We will look at current form, head-to-head records, stats, and players to look out for in the upcoming match.

Current form for CSK: W L W L W

CSK had come up with a dominating performance in their last game against Delhi Capitals. The reigning champions had posted 208 runs after Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway had added 110 runs for the opening alliance. Furthermore, their bowling unit had done a great job to help their team win by 91 runs, which is the biggest win of the season in terms of runs.

Current form for MI: L W W L L

MI haven’t been able to come up with a collective show with the bat and it has been their kryptonite this season. The big players such as Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard have failed to get going, which has led to their downfall.

Head to Head: Matches: 35, Won by MI: 20, Won by CSK: 15.

MI clearly has an edge over CSK in the head-to-head battle. However, CSK had won the last game against MI earlier in the season.

Players to look out for: Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ruturaj Gaikwad, MS Dhoni, and Dwayne Bravo will hold the key for Chennai Super Kings.

Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Tim David, and Jasprit Bumrah will hold the key for Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians XI Probable Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan (wk), Ramandeep Singh, Tilak Verma, Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, Hritik Shokeen, Jasprit Bumrah, Kumar Kartikeya, Riley Meredith.

CSK Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Shivam Dube, Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary.
