The reigning champions Gujarat Titans will begin their IPL 2023 campaign against Chennai Super League at their home ground of Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 31st March. GT had roped in players like Odean Smith, Kane Williamson, Shivam Mavi, Joshua Little, Mohit Sharma, Urvil Patel, and KS Bharat in IPL 2023 auction.
Strengths:
The biggest strength of Gujarat Titans in their maiden appearance in the IPL was the collective effort. Almost all the players had put their hands up at some point in the tournament and had won the matches on their own.
Rahul Tewatia and David Miller were brilliant in the middle and lower order as they were able to get off the blocks. Hardik Pandya also led from the front and after leading India in the T20I format, the all-rounder must have added more confidence to his leadership cap.
Weaknesses:
Gujarat Titans were able to go all the way in the previous season but didn’t address their problem of a genuine fast bowler in the squad apart from Alzarri Joseph. While Yash Dayal impressed in his debut season, GT lacks a bit of firepower in their pace bowling unit. Furthermore, there isn’t a big spinner in their ranks who will provide support to Rashid Khan.
GT PROBABLE PLAYING XI: Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Kane Williamson, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Mohammed Shami, R. Sai Kishore, Yash Dayal.

Note: David Miller will miss the opening game due to national commitment.
