Lucknow Super Giants will commence their IPL 2023 campaign against Delhi Capitals at their home ground of Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on 1st April. LSG had impressed in their maiden season as they had qualified for the playoff stages whereas Delhi Capitals had failed to make the cut into the last four.
LSG had added players like Daniel Sams, Jaydev Unadkat, Amit Mishra, Romario Shepherd, and Nicholas Pooran in IPL 2023 auction to strengthen their squad.
LSG’s biggest strength was their openers – KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock – in the previous season. While Rahul had scored 616 runs in 15 matches in the previous season at an average of 51.33 and a strike rate of 135.28, Quinton de Kock had amassed 508 runs in 15 matches at an average of 36.29 and a blistering strike rate of 148.97.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals will be led by David Warner in the absence of Rishabh Pant. The Capitals had added Rilee Rossouw, Phillip Salt, Manish Pandey, Ishant Sharma, and Mukesh Kumar to their squad in IPL 2023 auction but Pant’s absence is going to leave a huge void.
The Capitals have a potent squad and Warner will want to get the best out of his players in the upcoming season.
Match Prediction: Delhi Capitals will enter the contest as favorites against Lucknow Super Giants.
