The defending champions Chennai Super Kings will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the 22nd match of IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Monday. KKR, along with RR, are the only unbeaten team in the tournament and they will look to keep up the good show.
Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, got off to a promising start, winning both of their two games. However, the reigning champions have lost their last two matches against Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
CSK could only post 165 runs against the Orange Army on a slow pitch with Shivam Dube top-scoring with 45. All the CSK batters got off to starts but none of them could go on to get a big score for their team.
Furthermore, the CSK bowlers were taken to the cleaners in the Powerplay overs by young opener Abhishek Sharma and they certainly missed the services of Mustafizur Rahman.
On the other hand, KKR thrashed Delhi Capitals by 106 runs in the previous match after posting the second-highest total in IPL history – 272. Sunil Narine has been lethal at the top of the order whereas the middle order has also done a fine job for KKR.
Chennai pitch is expected to aid spinners and the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy will hold the key for KKR.
Match Prediction: Chennai Super Kings will enter the contest as favorites against Kolkata Knight Riders as they will be playing at home.
