West Indies will lock horns against India in the second T20I at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on Sunday. The home team took a 1-0 lead in the series after winning the opening game by four runs at Trinidad on Thursday. The Windies will look to continue the good show whereas the Indian team will aim to level the series.
It was a slow pitch at Trinidad and the West Indies bowlers made the most of the conditions. However, India will be disappointed as they could not chase down a below-par score of 150 runs despite three batters getting off to decent starts.
Moreover, India was poor in the field as Shubman Gill (a bit difficult one though) and Yuzvendra Chahal fluffed their catches. Rovman Powell had the rub of the green on both occasions and he made the visitors pay as he top-scored with 48 runs.
Meanwhile, Indian spinners, especially Chahal and Kuldeep were right on the money for the tourists and they are once again going to hold the key. The two debutants – Mukesh Kumar and Tilak Varma – also impressed as the former nailed his yorkers to conceded 24 runs in three overs whereas the latter top-scored with 39 runs off 22 balls.
However, the Indian team will look to come up with a better batting performance against the hosts.
Match Prediction: Despite the loss in the opening game, there is no doubt that India will begin as red-hot favorites against the West Indies.
