West Indies vs India 2023, 2nd Test – Match Prediction

West Indies will lock horns against India in the second Test match at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad from Thursday onwards. It was one-way traffic in the opening Test match as India hammered the Windies by a gargantuan margin of an innings and 141 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

It was a dominating performance from the visitors as they ticked all the right boxes. Ravichandran Ashwin was just unplayable as he scalped a total of dozen wickets in the match, returning with figures of 5-60 and 7-71 in the first and second innings respectively.

Furthermore, Ravindra Jadeja did the remaining damage as he bagged a total of five wickets. In the batting department, debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a magnum opus knock of 171 runs and showed all the patience and maturity in his maiden Test innings. Moreover, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored invaluable knocks of 103 and 76 runs respectively.

While India came up with a collective show, the West Indies could not show any fight. The hosts’ debutant Alick Athanaze impressed with a decent knock of 47 runs in the first innings and scored 28 in the second dig. But apart from the youngster, none of the West Indies players had any impact on the game.

Meanwhile, the pitch had a lot for the spinners as it was turning square from the opening day. Thus, it will be interesting to note what the track has to offer in Trinidad.
