India will lock horns against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, Harare in the third T20I on Wednesday. With the series tied at 1-1, both teams will look to take advantage in the third game. There was a contrasting difference in India’s performance in the second match after they were stunned by the hosts by 13 runs in the opener.
India, as they were expected, bounced back strongly with a comprehensive 100-run win. Abhishek Sharma, who has impressed one and all with his pyrotechnics in the IPL, brought his A-game to the International level, reaching a 46-ball 100 as he smashed seven fours and eight sixes.
The southpaw had the rub of the green on his side as he was dropped twice however he was able to make the most of extra lives. Furthermore, Ruturaj Gaikwad also scored a flamboyant knock of 77 runs off 47 balls. Moreover, Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers, returning with impressive figures of 3-15 whereas Mukesh Kumar also bagged three scalps.
India played with four frontline bowlers but they might go back to playing with five genuine bowling options in the third game.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe was sloppy in the field as they bungled four catches and thus had to pay the price. The home team conceded 160 runs in the last 10 overs and they certainly need to pull up their socks.
