Odisha FC goalkeeper Amrinder Singh has stated that togetherness and unity among the players are the club’s strength. The Kalinga Warriors have got off to an ideal start in the ongoing season as they have won three out of their first four matches while they have lost one game.
Odisha started their campaign with a 3-2 win against the previous season’s League Shield winners Jamshedpur FC. Subsequently, they were beaten 2-0 by Mumbai City FC.
They then went on to beat last edition’s runners-up Kerala Blasters FC by 2-1 and bested Durand Cup champions Bengaluru FC by 1-0 in their last game.
Amrinder Singh believes the club has a very good team and they work hard in the training sessions to get the best out of themselves.
“This year, we have an incredibly good team. The environment around the team is really positive and each player, every one of them is like a family here. All players, foreign and Indian alike, are ready to work hard in the training sessions,” Singh told Odisha FC TV.
“There is a togetherness in the team and the unity of the team is a positive sign and will be beneficial for us,” he said.
Meanwhile, Odisha FC has won both of its matches in their home stadium and Singh is delighted with the facilities on offer in the stadium.
“It is absolutely amazing. I saw the stadium and the work done here is extremely good. The pitch, the dressing room, everything has been done to perfection,” he added.
Amrinder Singh went on to add that he tries to get the best out of the youngsters and guide them on the right path to success.
“I always try to speak and help the youngsters. Not just me but also the foreign players in the team, we always appreciate their efforts while also correcting their mistakes. I always tell the youngsters to step up and take responsibility. As a team, we are one, we need to play as one (unit) and need to follow the instructions laid down by the coach,” the custodian added.
Odisha FC will next face the reigning champions Hyderabad FC on Saturday at G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium, Hyderabad.
