Kerala Blasters FC has suffered a huge blow in the ongoing Indian Super League as their defender Aiban Dohling has been ruled out of the rest of the season due to an injury. Dohling suffered an injury during the clash against Mumbai City at the Mumbai Football Arena on Sunday, which the Yellow Army lost by 2-1.
The club revealed the news on Wednesday and backed the young defender to make a strong comeback. Dohling suffered an injury during the first half of the game after he made his third start for the team in the ongoing season.
Kerala Blasters wrote in their post on X, previously Twitter, “?????? ?????? | Our defender, Aiban Dohling, suffered an injury during our game against Mumbai City FC last Sunday. The injury is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season. The entire Club stands by Aiban during this difficult time and we eagerly await his return to the pitch. Wishing him a swift and complete recovery!”
Expressing his disappointment, Dohling took to Instagram to share his thoughts, stating, “Absolutely devastated to have picked up this injury at such a crucial time in the season. Gutted I won’t be able to play any further part in the Indian Super League for my team Kerala Blasters.”
Despite his injury, Dohling wants to continue supporting his teammates during his recovery. He added, “But now it’s all about supporting the boys and getting behind them. I’m going to give everything I have to make sure I come back stronger than before.”
Aiban Dohling joined the Tuskers during the summer transfer window on a three-year deal. The 27-year-old had earlier impressed while playing at Shillong Lajong FC and had an impressive stint with FC Goa in the ISL.
