Paris Saint-Germain gaffer Luis Enrique is enjoying the challenge of coaching the team without the services of big names like Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Kylian Mbappe. While Messi and Neymar moved to Inter Miami CF and Al Hilal respectively, Mbappe recently signed a deal with La Liga giants Real Madrid.
PSG registered a 1-0 win against Girona in their Champions League’s opening match after Paulo Gazzinga scored an own goal in the 90th minute.
Luis Enrique was asked about his players adapting to not having a star player in the team and he told TNT Sports Brasil: “Yes, there’s a star, a star that shines more brightly than anything else, that is the team. That is the star, the team.
“It’s amazing. It is a feeling that I try to instil in my players. You see it on the pitch, one for all and all for one, like the Three Musketeers. That is marvellous in a team sport.”
Last season, Enrique had expressed his frustration when he was constantly asked about Mbappe.
Mbappe had played a key role in Parisians’s success in the last season, scoring 44 goals in 48 matches.
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe scored 29 goals and provided five assists in 34 Ligue 1 matches for PSG Saint-Germain and played a key role in taking the Parisians to glory in the 2022-23 season.
PSG has won Ligue 1 in the last three editions and the French international played a key part in the club’s success.
On the other hand, PSG has got off to a dream start as they have won all of their four matches and are at the top of the standings in Ligue 1 2024-25 season.
