Things haven’t been rosy across the globe during this period, especially in the sporting world following the outbreak of the pandemic of COVID-19 as people are trying to stay positive.
However, the India Hockey Women team has to try to take some positives as they have been looking for ways to remain in top shape and fitness.
The team’s forward Navjot Kaur has revealed that the tremendous performances by the current side last year [2019] have made the group compact and motivated to continue their hard work and believe in the future.
“It is glaring to see that it’s been a difficult period for everyone around the world, however, I believe we all have to be positive and focus on what’s ahead. We, all present at the Sports Authority of India campus in Bengaluru are focused on working hard on our fitness, stickwork drilling, and stamina.”
“I also believe our brilliant performances which we produced in 2019 moat especially at the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers has gone a long way in motivating us and improving our skills,” she said
The 25-year old forward added that they have felt relaxed on extracurricular activities like spending time with their families and watching movies.
“Yeah, apart from keeping fit and doing light training, I enjoy doing my hobbies like drawing, cooking, and most importantly spending time with my kids. I want everyone to be safe out there as we all remain indoors in this lockdown.”
