Indian Superstar Women six-time World Champion Boxer Mary Kom revealed on Wednesday for Indian sports have come with many athletes getting the financial support of various sponsors recently.
In a recent interview, the veteran boxer explained her early days, which she struggled to afford a pair of boxing gloves and also how she fought her way to the top. Mary Kom was present during the sending off of the athletes on their first SpiceJet flight for the Kehlo India Games, which is set to hold in Guwahati today [Firday].
She further revealed that it’s great and encouraging to witness a remarkable flying experience with the rising stars. To make Kehlo India a world-class sporting experience for the developing athletes, the Sports Authority of India [SAI] has collaborated with SpiceJet to assist more than 1000 kids in experiencing the joy of flying.
The Kehlo India games is an incredible initiative that is aimed at discovering young talents who can be nurtured to win laurels for the country, and its mission is to introduce state-of-the-art facilities to athletes at the grassroots level. The Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said he hopes this excellent partnership will further strengthen the commitment towards providing the best possible facilities to the athletes.
Furthermore, Radheshyam Jhulaniya, the sports secretary, SAI director-general Sandip Pradhan, and SpiceJet chairman and managing director Ajay Singh were also present to witness the event.
The Kehlo India games kick off fully today with many young and aspiring athletes to compete and showcase their various talents.
The events in which players will compete for medals are Athletics, Boxing, Basketball, Badminton, cycling, football, gymnastics, swimming, table tennis, volleyball, wrestling, hockey, judo, Tennis, Taekwondo, weightlifting, and others.
