Italy’s 19-year old Tennis sensation Jannik Sinner is making the right headlines in the sport. Sinner has shown the skills to go a long way in his career and he has already achieved the high ranking of 19 in his young career. Sinner recently played against the World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the Monte-Carlo Masters.
Though Sinner lost the second-round match by 6-4, 6-2, there were a lot of positives for the youngster. Sinner was praised by Djokovic for his powerful game and the Serbian stated that the Italian is the future of the sport.
After the match was concluded, Sinner’s coach Riccardo, who knows Djokovic and his team well, asked the World No.1 to give some advice on how they can improve. Djokovic was kind to share his opinion and Sinner was grateful to have received some tips from one of the best in the business.
Riccardo and Sinner are expected to work on Djokovic’s advice and they are doing the same in the ongoing Barcelona Open.
Sinner said, “Riccardo knows Djokovic and his team very well. Novak was kind to give us his point of view and to tell us how we can improve. I thank him for the advice which we followed and from which we took inspiration to start working immediately afterwards.”
When asked what the advice was from Djokovic, Sinner said, “Well, what he told me I don’t tell, I keep it to myself.”
Meanwhile, Sinner defeated Egor Gerasimov by 6-3, 6-2 in his first ever Barcelona Open match. The youngster then stunned Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut by 7-6, 6-2 in the round of 16. Sinner will now face Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals of the event.
