The Big Three – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic are the best players to have graced the game. It is not much noticed that three players have dominated the game the way these three have done so in the last 15 years or so. Roger Federer has won 20 slam titles whereas Rafael Nadal had matched his tally after he won his 13th French Open in 2020.
On the other hand, Novak Djokovic recently won his 18th major title after he won the Australian Open 2021 by defeating Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final. Meanwhile, Karolina Pliskova’s coach Sascha Bajin feels the total number of slam titles shouldn’t be the only factor when we discuss the GOAT debate between the Big three.
Furthermore, if we dwell into more details, Novak Djokovic has the most singles titles as the Serbian has won 59. Nadal has won 56 titles whereas Federer has savoured success in 54 singles titles.
“It is not because you have the most Grand Slam titles that you are automatically the best tennis player,” Bajin said. “So many other factors must be brought together and it is moreover difficult to define them.”
Bajin added that we should just enjoy that Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic can play for a long time in the future. The Big three have given all of us some great memories to cherish and their demeanor on the court can’t be matched.
“We should just enjoy that the Big 3 can play for a long time and hopefully they meet a few times,” Bajin said.
They have surely left a huge legacy with their impressive play and on and off the court attitude. They are once-in-a-generation players and have played at the top of their game in 15 years and more.
All of them are known for their fighting attitude and they have never given up in their career.
