Golden State Warriors’ power duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are well known for their chemistry on the court. The Splash Brothers, as they are known, have won many matches for their team. The pair was at their best against Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night as GSW won by 102-86.
Klay Thompson, who has made a comeback after a long hiatus, top-scored for the team with 21 points on 6-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-8 from 3. On the other hand, Steph Curry continued his rich form as he scored 18 points for the team after missing the previous game. Curry shot 6 for 11 with four 3-pointers and added eight assists to his ledger. Thus, the pair played a key role in the team’s win.
On the other hand, Andrew Wiggins contributed 19 points to the team’s win. Wiggins said it is damn near impossible to stop Curry and Thompson if they get going.
“It happens fast,” teammate Andrew Wiggins said of the Splash Brothers dominating. “They heat up fast. When they do it’s damn near impossible to stop.”
The team’s head coach Steve Kerr heaped praise on Klay Thompson who scored 21 points and came up with his best performance since his return.
“It was great. That was probably his best stretch of however many games he’s played,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “It was good to see him get hot and hear the crowd behind him.”
Thompson was also delighted with his performance and said he had fun on the court.
“I had a great time tonight, wish I made a couple more shots, but I just had a great time, it was fun,” said Thompson, who knows he will continue to regain his rhythm in time. “I don’t care if I miss 100 shots in a row, I’m never going to stop shooting the ball. I love it too much and I work too hard not to.”
